Medicines and Food

Foreigners strengthen health cooperation in the Mosquitia region. As part of their commitment to strengthening the health system and improving nutrition and food security in Honduras, representatives of the Canadian delegation included important activities, such as the launch of a project to improve primary health care. This project aims to strengthen access to and coverage of maternal and child health services by incorporating care for the municipalities of Mocoron, Wampusirpi, and Ahuas in the department of Gracias a Dios.

In addition, various food assistance programs have been implemented in the Moskitia region of Honduras, including food-for-work programs in the Mocoron community, to benefit families in vulnerable situations.

Development of activities for children and adults in the Mosquitia

The Mosquitia, a region in eastern Honduras, faces challenges such as poverty and food insecurity, but also offers opportunities for sustainable development. Development in the Mosquitia focuses on strengthening agriculture, diversifying the economy, protecting natural resources, and improving the quality of life for indigenous communities.

Sharing

Sharing a small feast with the elderly in the Centro neighborhood of the Mocorón community, who only have beans, rice, and tortillas. The world needs more food for the poor, fewer wars, and caring people committed to charity and love in their hearts. If you feel the need to donate food, clothing, or donations to help some of the world's poorest people, think of the Norma I Love Foundation. It makes a difference every day!

Environmental Protection

We are very happy in La Mosquitia, Honduras, working with the people and the Armed Forces to help the environment. Our soldiers and supporting population planted 600 more trees to reforest the area, which needs many more, especially mahogany trees. Thank you, dear people and soldiers!

Gastronomy

The Miskito culture of Honduras is extensive, located in the northeastern part of the country, specifically in the Mosquitia region, in the department of Gracias a Dios. One of their most notable characteristics is their traditions and exquisite cuisine, so we invite you to discover the most typical dishes of this Honduran indigenous ethnic group.
